Star Awards Shortlist 2018

Posted on July 26, 2018 | genkijacs

We are very proud to say that we have been shortlisted for the very prestigious Study Travel World Language School Star Award yet again this year! This marks the 10th year in a row we've been shortlisted for this award. It's an honor to be considered for this award, which is truly a benchmark of excellence in the language study travel industry.

From the official website: "The ST Star Awards have honoured top class performance across the study travel industry for 14 years and are the awards that educators, agents and service providers working in the study travel industry want to win, and be associated with. Those who win the award five times are introduced into the StudyTravel Star Awards Hall of Fame as a Super Star."

It has been quite some time since Genki Japanese & Language School (JACS) opened its doors in 2004. At that time we were much smaller, but determined to be different to everyone else.
We have been sharing Japanese Language and Culture with our students for the past 13 years and we have also been learning from every single one of you, and for that we are incredibly thankful.

We pride ourselves in teaching communicative Japanese for everyday life, rather than academic Japanese for higher education. We don’t want to isolate you (our students) from the rest of the world in the Ivory Tower of learning, but rather encourage you to go out there and discover Japan; her culture, quirks, peculiarities and people. Learn Japan not just Japanese.

To make sure that your learning is effective and fun we keep our classes small, timetables flexible, have top notch teachers (seriously aren’t they great?) and we pretty much guarantee to have a class at the right level for you. Not to mention our special classes and guests, culture and pop classes, weekly events, and the list goes on.

The results speak for themselves: GenkiJACS is accredited both nationally and internationally, and was shortlisted by popular vote every year from 2009 to 2015 as one of the world's top language schools (not just Japanese schools). In 2016 we have finally won!

The NEWS!!!

GenkiJACS' one year Japanese student visa course has been running successfully for a couple of years now, and it seems the government has decided to trust our Japanese school a little bit more too, because they just agreed to let our student visa students extend their study for an extra 6 months. So now you can study Japanese with GenkiJACS on a student visa for up to 18 months! We're updating our website to reflect this new information, but we wanted to get the details out as soon as possible. Here are those details:

Cost: 1,390,000 yen for 18 months

Our one-year student visa course costs 990,000 yen for 40 weeks. So the extra 6 months/20 weeks costs only 400,000 yen extra. That's a 38% discount off normal tuition costs, by far our biggest discount ever!

Just the same as for our one-year student visa course. Please note that one very important requirement is that your Japanese ability level is not too high, because if it is, there won't be a class for your 6-month extension!

Application method:

Apply for our one-year student visa course as normal. Then, during your first year, just tell us you'd like to extend to 18 months, and we'll make the arrangements.
One of the main benefits of this extension is that it lets you graduate from GenkiJACS in March, even if you started in October. This can be important because the academic year in Japan starts in April, and many Japanese colleges and universities still only allow entry then. In addition, many companies do the main part of their hiring in March. So if you're planning to go on to a Japanese college, or to work in Japan, this change can make your schedule much more sensible.

If you have any questions about our student visa programs, or anything else, always feel free to contact the best Japanese language school in Japan!
Learning is a journey and there is no end on the horizon, but we can move towards it one step at a time.

Happy birthday Tokyo school!

Posted on June 02, 2016 | genkijacs

Tokyo school is 3 years old today. It feels like only yesterday we opened our doors for the first time and got our very first students there.
To celebrate, we enlisted the help of our friends at From no on gorup to make Tokyo school's very own introduction video. Check it out!

Here's to many more successful years of Japanese language study in Tokyo.

New Fukuoka school intro video!

Posted on October 27, 2014 | genkijacs

We recently remadet the introduction video for our Fukuoka school, and are pleased to announce that it is finally ready for viewing!

Fukuoka-based video production company From Now On Group shot and produced the video, and we will also be enlisting their services to produce our Tokyo school introduction video, slated for release in Spring next year.

We think this video is a pretty good portrayal of what our Japanese language school is really like, and we hope it will help some of our future students in making the decision to study with us.
The video is also up on our Facebook, so please let us know what you think!

New website is live!

Posted on January 15, 2014 | genkijacs

Our new website is live! It's a big change, but we're pretty excited! We'll be making a few more updates during the next while, as well as fixing a few minor bugs - if you spot anything that's broken, let us know! It should be responsive, meaning it should (technically...) display correctly on smartphones as well. We've also made some changes to our courses and costs for 2014...keep checking back for more exciting new content!

Let us know what you think! We'll be happy to hear your opinions on the new look. The all new!

Star Awards Nomination 2013

Posted on July 30, 2013 | genkijacs

Genki Japanese language school is proud to be voted one of the world's Star Language Schools for 2013. This is our fifth year in a row! The STM Star Awards are unique, peer-voted awards in the international education industry. We are honored to be one of only five schools in the world nominated for the World Language School award!

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for us this year, too. We hope to continue providing Japanese language education to the standard deserving of this award for many years to come.

Genki Japanese Language School in Tokyo

Posted on June 18, 2013 | genkijacs

After a very busy month of preparations, we finally opened the new branch of Genki Japanese Language School in Tokyo on the 3rd of June!
It's located just minutes from the JR Shinjuku Station, right on the grounds of the famous Hanazono Shrine. We're so pleased to already have so many students studying with us here in Tokyo, and look forward to seeing more and more pupils join in the fun!

The school has six classrooms, and a lounge where students can relax with free coffee and tea, watch TV and play games in the afternoons after lessons. There's also free wi-fi of course, and a book exchange where you can take or leave any non-Japanese books on the shelf. We also have a collection of manga available, so if you feel like leveling up your Japanese, why not challenge Chobits, GTO, or One Piece?

Would you like to experience the fast-paced Tokyo life? Why not visit our school there? If you like it, stay a while!

Check out our Facebook page for more photos of the new school!
