Exciting news last week, as the first true discount airline started flights to and from Japan! Air Asia, based in Malaysia, started flights between Haneda and Kuala Lumpur. They’re offering flights for as little as 8000 yen one way. They plan to start offering flights from Fukuoka to Malaysia from later this year – we can’t wait! In the past, it’s been almost as expensive to travel to some parts of Asia as to travel to Europe or the US, so we look forward to what is hopefully the start of an era of inter-Asia low cost travel.
