Homestay Online
Our students tend to ask us the same question: How long does it take to learn Japanese? No matter if they want to study online or not.
To answer this question, we always say that it depends on you. How much you are willing to dedicate to your study, how much work are you ready to do and of course, how much you take to the language.
However, to answer your question clearly and in a couple of words, we would say: A very long time. Possibly your whole life.
I may be a little old-fashioned, but I believe that most things worth doing should take time. So the Japanese language should take time!
But we know that we humans tend to be a little lazy and search for the easiest ways of doing things. Luckily there is one foolproof way of speeding up your Japanese learning, and that is being around and communicating with Japanese people.
Homestay in Japan
A lot of our students who come to Japan choose to stay with a Japanese host family. Some want to see how it is to live with the local people and experience how a typical Japanese household is run. Some want to be involved in events and outings only available to those who are in local communities. Others just want to try homemade Japanese food and watch TV in the evening with their host parents and get angry at local events and the youth today. But all, without fail, who choose to stay with a host family, do so because they know that it will help their Japanese language learning.
We have been friends and partners with Homestay In Japan for many years now. They have been instrumental in helping us find the best available host families in Tokyo, Kyoto and Fukuoka. Many of our students made life long connections with their host families, and we believe that these relationships will keep going and growing as time goes by.
Homestay in Japan Online
Now that travel to Japan is impossible for most, you can learn Japanese online in this new age of technology. Though being in a classroom in person is a much more satisfying experience, Japanese lessons online are not a bad alternative. But surely you won’t benefit from interacting with the Japanese, and you won’t have the chance to feel a little closer to Japanese culture. Good news alert: now you can.
Our friends at HIJ (Homestay in Japan) have created a homestay option you can take while in your own country!
There are several options you can take, depending on how busy you are!
