Japanese garden

Now is the best time to see colored leaves!
Some students have been trying to go to Kyoto to enjoy this beautiful season with colored leaves, but they have been having difficulty finding a place to stay because many tourists are also visiting there.

Our students went to a Japanese garden in culture class yesterday and enjoyed walking around and looking at trees with colored leaves. Some of the leaves looked gold due to the sun light and some looked light pink. They were all beautiful and calmed our minds.

US Air Force students learning Japanese with Genki Japanese School

Posted on November 14, 2012 | genkijacs

This is Robert-san, a student at Genki Japanese Language School. He served 6 years as a Korean linguist in the US Air Force. He later received a commission as an Intelligence Officer and was accepted into the Air Force`s new Language Enabled Airman Program (LEAP). After eventually acheiving a 3/3+ on the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) in Korean, he was one of few in the program to be selected as a cross-trainee into a second language - Japanese!

He started learning Japanese in May 2012, and came to GenkiJACS for 4 weeks from October. It is his first time to come to Fukuoka.
His Japanese has improved so much in the short time that he has been here!!!!! He loves Genki Japanese School, people in Fukuoka and Japanese food.

This is one way that you can learn Japanese - through the Air Force!

Studying Japanese.....

....takes a lot of time and energy!

Our former student Raico-san, who is from Switzerland, came to GenkiJACS for 6 months in 2010! He fell in love with Fukuoka, the people, Japan, etc, so decided to come back again this year. He came to study with us for 2 weeks this fall and started a long term course at our partner school from October!

He often comes to GenkiJACS to study on his own after school. Other students who go to the partner school also often come to GenkiJACS. It is always nice to see their progress in Japanese!

Students' visit always makes our day!

Look at Raico-san studying hard!
