What a year
We waved 2020 as it flew by, to (almost) quote the words of our favourite pirate Jack Sparrow, and we are now seeing the beginnings of 2021 taking shape. It has been quite eventful already, and we wanted to take this opportunity to catch you up.
The Japanese government has paused entrance of foreign nationals to Japan until further notice. We hope that the borders will be open from the beginning of February, but do keep a close eye on our Instagram and Facebook accounts for the latest updates.
Our response
However, despite such restrictions, we are happy to say that Fukuoka, Kyoto and Tokyo schools are still running in-person classes. To make sure that everyone is as safe as we can be, we added several preventative measures in place in additions to the once listed here: https://www.genkijacs.com/covid19-measures-and-policy.php
One of the most significant changes is that Fukuoka school, where our 1-year student course students are, has split Japanese classes into two different categories:
.
1) In-Person classes
2) Online Classes
This way, each week, one portion of students is taking online lessons exclusively and while another is at school. We decided to do that to minimise the number of people at school at any given time to further reduce the chances of infection. We will continue with the plan until the first week of February of 2021 but may extend this period depending on Japan’s situation. Classes in Tokyo and Kyoto are not affected.
Our priority
As always, we are committed to providing only the highest quality of Japanese classes. Your safety and learning are our first and foremost priorities. No matter what the world throws at us next, we will always put your experience first.
2021 has just started, we are very positive about it and very excited, as we will have some exciting news coming in soon! Watch this space.
