NATURAL DISASTER EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
As you study with us, there may be a time, when a natural disaster may strike.
As the priority is your safety and in the unlikely event of this, we as a school would like to provide you with the necessary tools to keep yourself and others around you as safe as possible.
First:
Please check the following website:
https://www.jnto.go.jp/safety-tips/eng/
This will provide you with the latest information.
Second:
Have a look here and make sure to check the websites and resources that are given in the document:

Third:
Should anything happen while you are at school, please follow our staff instructions, as we will follow standard operating emergency procedures as provided by the Japanese Government. Maps of how to get to the emergency shelter are posted at school.
If a natural disaster strikes outside of school hours please make sure to follow instructions provided by the Japanese government. They may suggest you stay put or go to the nearest emergency shelter. In either case please monitor the latest information very closely.
If directed to go to a shelter, please go, or, if not sure, find someone around you who will lead you there. Your accommodation will have a map to an emergency shelter, and if staying with a host family, please follow their guidance as they will know where to go or what to do.
Should something happen during your commute, please follow the instructions of station masters/bus drivers etc., as they will direct you on what to do or take you to the appropriate place to take shelter.
Some emergencies may be quite sudden (earthquakes etc.) whereas others may be less unexpected (typhoons). In any case, the best thing to do is to keep yourself informed and monitor the situation closely. As noted previously this site: https://www.jnto.go.jp/safety-tips/eng/ will have most tools for you to keep tabs on the current situation.
Should we change our schools` operations, or opening hours during such events, we will make sure to contact you by email and post the relevant information on our SNS outlets (Facebook and Instagram).
