Introducing Online Lessons

We started online Japanese lessons to provide you with an opportunity to study no matter where you are. These lessons can be taken from the comfort of your homes and at the time of your own choosing to an extent. Though we began providing them in 2020, they have grown to become a window to Japan to those who wanted to learn the language but could not reach the country in person. We are happy to say that we have seen hundreds of students taking our lessons online since then, and some are still taking our classes even though they started in June of 2020!

Is studying online for me?

The short answer is yes! The longer answer would mean asking yourself a couple of very easy questions:

• Want to study Japanese?
• Want to study at home?
• Is GenkiJACS to your liking?

If the answer to all three questions is YES, then Online Japanese lessons are for you.

Of course, we understand that for one or another reason, you may not be able to travel to Japan for a while, but it doesn`t have to mean that you can`t pursue the language we love so much!

Lesson format

If you decided to take online lessons what would can you expect?
We use Zoom for our online classes, so the first thing you would be seeing is our teacher and, depending on your course, your classmates on the screen; after that, we will be using our original materials to help you in your learning. We use several different tools to accommodate every need of the class:

• PowerPoint
• XL
• Video and Audio
• Fillable PDF files
• We add other ways of teaching if it helps you!

You can have your lessons start with some simple introductions and then a quick chat, and after that, you may be asked to do a quiz or watch a video and answer questions related to it. It is almost exactly like studying in person; only you are at home.

After your lesson

One of the most important parts of studying is homework. We love homework, and you will get to like it too! You will get it through Google Classroom, and after answering everything perfectly, the submission is as easy as 1,2,3.

Though in the beginning, homework shouldn`t take you too long to finish, as we usually estimate about 30 minutes, as you progress through class-levels, it may start taking a little longer. Your completed homework will be checked individually, and every mistake will be corrected and commented on, so you will see where you might want to push and study up more.
