Today, Thursday 1/28: Visit Yuusentei Japanese gardens; learn hanafuda Japanese cards at school
Friday 1/29: Karaoke party
Saturday 1/30: Sushi eating and Round 1 game center tour
Tuesday 2/2: Free city tour; “ehoumaki” sushi roll making class
Wednesday 2/3: Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine
Thursday 2/4: Visit Kushida shrine; watch Japanese movie at school
Friday 2/5: Trip to onsen (hot springs; Friday night party

Students will be busy!

Here is a list of the GenkiJACS events planned in the next few days:

Thursday December 10: Japanese movie “Hula Girl” on the big screen at school
Friday December 11: Karaoke party
Saturday December 12: Fukuoka Motor Show

Monday December 14: Pottery class
Tuesday December 15: Tenjin Xmas Illumination Tour, and Tea ceremony and kimono class
Wednesday December 16: Touchouji temple visit
Thursday December 17: Atago Shrine visit, combined class with Nakamura University, free city tour for new students, and movie at school (a busy day!)
Friday December 18: Sumi-e charcoal painting class, and Xmas party!

That’s 13 events in just 9 days! Most students don’t have the time or energy to attend ALL of these, but we want to make sure your time is full of fun things to do. We’ve recently powered up GenkiJACS’ events program, and we’ll be announcing a whole new program in the near future too. Watch this space!

Wed Sep 2nd, 2:30pm: Making udon noodles
Thurs Sep 3rd, 2:30pm: tour of Hakata textile factory
Thurs Sep 3rd, 4:30pm: movie night! Watch the Japanese movie “Swing Girls” with other students
Fri Sep 4th, 6pm: Sukiyaki party!
Tues Sep 8th, 2:30pm: tea ceremony and kimono-wearing experience
Tues Sep 8th, 4pm: Free city tour
Wed Sep 9th, 2:30pm: visit Kushida shrine
Wed Sep 9th, 17:20~20:30: Traditional Noh theater experience – watch and practice chanting, dancing and drums at the noh theater in Ohori park
Thurs Sep 10th, 2:30pm: sumi-e charcoal painting class
Fri Sep 11th, 6pm: Friday night party!
Sat Sep 12th, 6pm~9pm: Hojouya festival visit
Sun Sep 13th, noon: exchange class
