Working Holiday Visa Applications Open
You can now come to Japan if you have a Working Holiday Visa! If you are not sure if your country and Japan have the working holiday visa agreement, please have a look at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Website.
**Not all Japanese embassies of the countries listed can issue working holiday visas at the moment, so please contact your local Japanese embassy to make sure.
So, let’s assume all is well, and you can receive your Working Holiday Visa. We are happy to say that we can act as guarantors for your WHV and provide you with the required documents, as long as you study with us for 2 weeks or longer! The following process is a little complex, but bear with us and we should be able to sort it out.
Step 1 – The Set-Up
-
- You contact us by filling out our application form for Kyoto or Tokyo. (No Working holiday visa support is available in Fukuoka and Nagoya)
- If you have never studied Japanese, then the earliest you can start is 9th May 2022! The next possible is 6th June 2022
- If you are somehow familiar with Japanese we will ask you to take our Online Level tests.
- We register you!
- We receive your payment.
- You contact us by filling out our application form for Kyoto or Tokyo. (No Working holiday visa support is available in Fukuoka and Nagoya)
Step 2 – The Forms
-
- You contact your local Japanese Consulate/Embassy to make an appointment or at least see when it is possible.
- We will send an Online Form to fill out where we ask about your vaccination information. This will allow us to define whether you will require quarantine or not.
- If Quarantine is required:
You buy a flexible flight ticket that can be cancelled. We ask for this, as it is not a 100% guarantee that the visa is going to be approved.
You provide us with the date of arrival and your flight details.
We organise your quarantine and accommodation (if required).
**If you have your own accommodation we would need the details.
We fill out the “Certificate for Completion of Registration to the ERFS System” (受付済証, uketsuke zumisho) for you and send the file to you. - If Quarantine is NOT required:
You buy a flexible ticket that can be cancelled.
You provide us with the date of arrival to Japan and your flight details.
**If you have your own accommodation we would need the details
We fill out the “Certificate for Completion of Registration to the ERFS System” (受付済証, uketsuke zumisho) for you and send the file to you.
- If Quarantine is required:
Step 3 – Visa stuff
Please get in touch with your local Japanese embassy and/or consulate, and check what documents are exactly needed. It is up to them to decide on whether to provide you with a visa or not.
-
- Apply
- Positive Outcome
You got your visa and we are waiting for you to come to Japan. - Negative Outcome
In an unlikely event if your visa was refused. Send us a notification together with an email/letter from the consulate/embassy.
We will then refund you the fees you paid.

- Apply
So what are you waiting for! Apply to study with us in Kyoto or Tokyo and start your journey in 2022!
We are looking forward to seeing you!

Hello,
I’m searching for a sponsor and I will like to know how much does it cost a 2 weeks course in the school?
I’m from Argentina, South America
Thank you in advance

Hello Sonia-san,
Thank you for your interest! We would be very happy to have you study with us.
The total price will depend on the options you choose, so we recommend to fill our estimate request form. The estimate is free, and you are not obligated to enroll with us after.
For Kyoto, you can fill this form: https://www.genkijacs.com/kyoto-booking.php
For Tokyo it will be this form: https://www.genkijacs.com/tokyo-booking.php
Thank you!
Regards.
Hi, I would like to visit Japan on a working holiday visa from Australia right after I graduate university in July 2022 and I am wondering if you would be able to assist me in getting the ERFS Certificate. I am also interested in taking a 3 month language course.
Hi Jack-san,
We are happy that you are interested in studying with us!
Applications for short-term course through a working-holiday visa are opened at our Tokyo and Kyoto schools at the moment and we help students with the ERFS form and the UketsukeZumisho. However, there are not many seats left for 2022, so it will depend on your exact dates and your Japanese level (we have an online test to determine this, so do not worry).
The first thing would be to fill our estimate request form, so we know your plans, and we will get back to you to help as much as we can.
For Kyoto, you can fill this form: https://www.genkijacs.com/kyoto-booking.php
For Tokyo it will be this form: https://www.genkijacs.com/tokyo-booking.php
Thank you!

Hello, I would I am interested in taking a 2 week course because I’d like to do WHV but once I am done with the lessons, am I no longer eligible to be in Japan? Or can I finish off the remainder of my WH after completion?
Hello there!
I have good news for you! The Working holiday visa, once approved, is valid until the end of the validity. If you study with us and then leave to explore Japan, your visa will not be cut short! In short, you can absolutely complete your WHV after studying with us!
Hello!
I am interested in doing 3 months study in Kyoto next year possibly starting in March. Can I ask for support in getting the working holiday visa? And is there any discount for 3 months study? (I saw it at some.place but not sure) or do I add the sum of cost per week?
Thanks
Hello there! It is great that you are looking to be coming to Kyoto! I am happy that we can support WHV documentation!
The best thing to do is to contact us at [email protected] and we can start arranging your course
But you are right! There is a very special discount for the 3 months course on a working holiday visa and the whole course (tuition fees and registration fees) is 350,000 Yen! If you add the costs per week without the discount, the three months will be: 418,000 Yen.
Hi there,
I’m a UK national looking to get a WHV. I see you’re very generously offering help with ERFS and I’d love to study for 2 weeks with you if possible. Are there still slots left?
Thanks,
Jack
Hello there!
Absolutely! It does depend on when you would like to study! The best thing to do is to fill out our application form found here: https://www.genkijacs.com/online-estimate.php and we can start the process!
