We offer a number of activities every day of the week (and some on weekends), both paid and completely free, guaranteeing that you'll never have a bored moment at school. See the list of example activities below, or check out a sample weekly schedule at GenkiJACS might look like.
Free activities
- Language exchange program
We pair students up with a Japanese native speaker to make friends and practise their language - Language lounge
Weekly language exchange event with Japanese residents learning English. *Only in Fukuoka - Movie night
Once per week, Japanese movie screening in the student lounge, with free popcorn - City tour
Once per week, our staff show students around the city - Game nights
Learn hanafuda, goh, shogi and more, held around once a month - Public holiday field trips
A free field trip on every public holiday means you'll never be bored! - Festivals
Join traditional seasonal Japanese festivals when available, usually accompanied by staff, sometimes over weekends
Paid activities
- Culture module classes
Even if students are not taking the Culture courses, they may be able to register for them once at the school. 12,000 yen per Saturday. - Weekly Friday party
Usually at a traditional Japanese restaurant or at GenkiJACS, with our staff, or Japanese volunteers - Bowling/karaoke/international exchange parties
Usually arranged by students, sometimes accompanied by school staff or Japanese students - Concerts & Events
We sometimes receive special discounted tickets for students to concerts and events around the city. These are available at reception on a first-come first-serve basis so get 'em while they're hot! - Sports watching
If watching a baseball or soccer match in Japan has always been your dream, you might be able to do so for free! Check regularly at reception, we may have some comps available.
